In 1967, Dr. Harold Larimore, a prominent Springfield optometrist, convinced Drs. Richard Baker and Donald Pettigrew to merge their solo practices to form a powerful force in eye care.  Some may have thought it was a risky venture, but history now proves that it was a brilliant idea. Sunshine Eye Clinic was born.  Those early years began in a renovated service station on South Street near downtown Springfield, but it was not the building that was important. The value was in the service and care given to the patients of our Ozarks community.  Innovation was the result of incorporating one of the largest selections of eyewear in Southwest Missouri, the newest leading-edge technology, and a commitment to excellence in eye care.

With the passing of time those founders are no longer with us, but their legacy continues to live on at Sunshine Eye Clinic.  In 1989 the practice moved to its present location on Sunshine Street into a new state-of-the-art facility. Over the years Drs. Bary Brown, James Scheve, Ronald Keeling, and Brenda Carrell have joined the quest.   Come and experience an eye doctor that will listen to you; a doctor that will not think of you as a number, but as a person.  Experience a doctor committed to solving your eye care problems instead of reacting to them.  Experience an optical center that promotes eyewear to satisfy your individual needs with style and value.   Imagine how satisfied you will be as a patient.

From the Doctors and Staff of Sunshine Eye Clinic, thank you Dr. Larimore and thank you Springfield and the Ozarks.
